Il personaggio di maggiore spicco fu Georges Frèdéric Strass, nominato
"Re jeweler" nel 1734, al quale si deve l'invenzione delle paillettes,
ancora oggi utilizzate nella bigiotteria.
Gli anni Settanta è stato il periodo di maggiore utilizzo delle
paillette, quando esplose la moda del genere glam-rock che in quel
periodo andava per la maggiore, come ci testimoniano gli splendidi ricami di
