Rientrato in America dopo la fine della seconda guerra mondiale, si iscrive a un corso presso la New School for Social Research, dove insegna Alexey Brodovitch, art director di Harper's Bazaar, che scopre il talento di Avedon e lo fa entrare nello staff del magazine.
All'epoca lavoravano nel giornale anche Carmel Snow e Diana Vreeland e insieme a Brodovitch formavano un trio che avrebbe portato la rivista al suo grande successo di quegli anni.
Scopre un nuovo modo per dare espressività alle modelle, che non sono più semplici “manichini” ma persone in carne ed ossa, esseri reali, vivi. Non più soggetti ripresi in pose rigide e inespressive, ma colti in scatti di ira o in espressioni improvvise di gioia.
Ecco alcuni abiti, scelti da me, che mi hanno fatto pensare, ricordare in qualche modo questo celebre fotografo.
For this post, the protagonist, is the famous fashion photographer Richard Avedon.

He discovers a new way to give expression to the models, which are no longer mere "dummies" but people of flesh and blood, real beings, live. No longer subjects shot in poses stiff and expressionless, but caught in outbursts or sudden expressions of joy.
